Slovakia: Eurovia in the footsteps of the tramway Košice

Eurovia, a subsidiary of Vinci specialized in infrastructure transport and an urban development, has won 8 lots in the second phase in the modernization of the tramway network Košice in Slovakia. The contract value is amounting approximately 80 million euros.

This second phase aims to rehabilitate the network infrastructure of more than 33 km serving 15 urban and suburban lines and the acquisition of new rolling stock. The ongoing modernization projects of the routes should start before the end of 2016 and will spread over 2 years.

All in all, Eurovia teams should be issued up on 449 tasks on construction works, the rails will be completely replaced and the networks deflected. Electrical equipment, signs, light and all tram and bus platforms will be modernized. Finally, new information systems and a CCTV system will be installed.
