Bechtel wins oil & gas contracts in Egypt

Bechtel, the US construction giant, has secured two contracts from Carbon Holdings to build two new polypropylene units in Egypt.

The company will design and build on what will be the largest petrochemicals complex in the country.

Carbon Holdings chairman and CEO, Basil El Baz, had announced that they were pleased to be working with Bechtel, a world-class contractor that can ensure the successful delivery of a facility as large and as complicated as Tahrir Petrochemicals.
Twenty thousands Egyptians will be employed during the construction phase along with approximately 3,000 engineers.

Bechtel is currently focused on the oil & gas sector but is also looking to work in the infrastructure sector. The company has made known its interest in assisting the Egyptian government in issues regarding the application of coal-powered plants.
