Volvo CE, first electric compact demonstration
During the Volvo Group Innovation Summit on May 17th, the company has showcased the demonstration of its latest concept machine the EX2, the 100% electric compact excavator prototype.

This fully electric compact delivers not only zero emissions but provides 10 times higher efficiency and 10 times lower noise levels, and reduced total cost of ownership compared to its conventional counterparts.

PUBLICITÉ
The EX2 fully electric was designed with the replacement of the combustion engine by two lithium ion batteries, totaling 38kWh which enables the storage of electric energy allowing the machine to operate in an intense application for eight hours.

As Volvo Group’s vision is to be the most desired global transport solution, the company is devoted to developing and contributing to sustainable evolution. Volvo believes that the electrification of construction equipment represents the future of the industry, and for that reason, Volvo CE focuses their efforts in developing technologies connected to electromobility, intelligent machines and total site solutions.

The EX2 at this stage is only a research project and there are currently no plans for industrialization.
