Two new 120MW turbines have been added to the plant which has now a capacity of 480MW. The FMHL stands as the second-largest pumped storage plant in Switzerland.

The FMHL is to generate 1bn KW/h every year, being the consumption of near 300,000 households.
The project cost is $328.7M divided in four partners that are Romande Energie with a 41.14% share, Alpiq with 32.29%, Groupe E and the city of Lausanne with 13.14% and 6.43% shares respectively.
