To be located in Gilliam County, Oregon, the Montague wind farm will be built from 2018. The international energy company, Iberdrola through its subsidiary, Avangrid Renewables, is to be the owner and the operator of the plant.

A PPA has been signed between the two companies and it commits them for the next twenty years.
The Montague wind farm project is expected to cost $300M. It represents the first Apple-created wind project.
On the other hand, Apple has also concluded a PPA for the 56MW Solar Star Oregon II photovoltaic plant, near its data center in Prineville.
