Lagan Construction won €3.7M sustainable water project in Ireland

On April 24, Irish Water in partnership with Donegal County has awarded the contract to the wastewater and water treatment Group’ s subsidiary, Laganwater Limited, that aims to provide supply of water to Greencastle’s inhabitants.

The Inishowen Regional Water Supply Scheme project is managed by Laganwater Limited, the Lagan Construction Group’s subsidiary. It is engaged to provide a secure supply of water to Greencastle which is located in Inishowen.

Neil McKenzie, Director at Laganwater Limited commented: “Laganwater is delighted to have secured this significant infrastructure contract by Irish Water. Our dedicated team is fully committed to delivering this project successfully for our client, Irish Water.”

The company is also to carry out mechanical and electrical installation of the project.

Work is ongoing since the end of April.

Declan Cawley, Irish Water’s Water Network Regional Lead for the North West Region explained: “The project includes the transfer of 1,500m3/day from the Pollan Dam WTP into East Inishowen and will necessitate the construction of a pumping station within the existing Pollan Dam WTP site, a 6.95km rising main to a new reservoir at Crockaveeny and 4.5km of distribution main.”

The €3.7M project completion is scheduled for December 2018.
