Atlas Copco's ‘if you want something done, do it' plan used for new US facility

On May 17, the Swedish global provider of sustainable productivity solutions has inaugurated the opening of new headquarters in Rock Hill, entirely built with its machines.

Atlas Copco’s compacting vehicles and pavers have been used to create the company’s parking lots on the 34 acre site in Riverwalk Business Park which is located in South Carolina.

The new plant is to manufacture portable compressors and generators for the construction industry as well as medical gas products for hospitals.

Andrew Walker, President of the Construction Technique business area commented: “This state-of-the-art factory will improve our production capabilities, enhancing productivity for our customers in North America.”

Atlas Copco new facility includes lean manufacturing that enables efficient and flexible processes, besides environmentally sustainable. It also contains the U.S customer center.

The new building has cost $25M.
