Libya Cement Company unveils plan to reopen two factories

A project to get Benghazi’s factories back in operation has been announced at the end of April, during a meeting held by the Joint Libyan Cement Company in Amman Jordan.

Located in Benghazi’s Hawari district, the two cement factories are closed since 2014 but the Libya Cement Company envisages reopening them and is currently finalizing plans.

In a statement, the company has affirmed that a re-building is required at the factories as well as electricity and gas restorations.
At least one year would be necessary before the factories can return to production.
