Potain cranes prove its high-hoisting capacities in the sky of Denmark

Soborg-based, Denmark, MT Hojgaard has chosen a fleet of 15 Potain cranes to construct a new hospital complex for Aalborg University of Denmark, the largest job site in Northern Denmark.

The fleet includes eight GTMR 386 B self-erecting cranes, with a maximum hook height of up to 32 m (105ft), a maximum load capacity of 8 t (8.8 USt) and a 50 m (164 ft) jib, and six MDT 178 tower cranes with its hook height of up to 66.9 m (219ft), an 8 t (8.8 USt) capacity of loading, a maximum jib length of 60 m (197 ft) and finally, one Potain MDT 218 A J10, fixed crane, topless tower which features an extra long jib radius of 65 m (213.3 ft) and a high 10 t (11 USt) capacity.

The cranes have been positioned throughout the vast job site of nearly 330,000m², the machines aimed to lift concrete and formwork materials, with the heaviest load weighing of 6 t (6.6 USt).

The Potain cranes designed with high load capacities, rapid installation whatever the site conditions may be and with a reduced size during transport, these cranes offered the ideal solution to achieve this project expected in 2020. The entire project will cost an estimated of DKK 4.77 billion.
