New Manual Metal Arc welding equipment

Castolin Eutectic has launched two new arc welding equipment (MMA): the ACCUmax, a portable unit with a lithium-ion battery and a long battery life, and the POWERmax 4.0 to 150 A, also available as POWERmax 1800 to 180 A.

The ACCUmax is a manual, low-weight arc welding equipment that is compact, portable and without the need to be connected to the network, which makes it possible to work at the top of a mountain, in hard-to-reach areas of construction. The autonomy of the equipment with the fully charged battery allows to weld up to 6 electrodes of 3.25 mm diameter or 18 electrodes of 2.5 mm. Its fast charging function allows the battery to be fully charged in 30 minutes. For long-term welding work, simply connect the unit to a 2 kVA generator, avoiding heavy investment.

The resonant technology incorporated in POWERmax 4.0 makes welding easier. By improving the weld results thanks to the rapid control of the characteristic curve of the arc, it facilitates the use of electrodes that are difficult to handle. The digital resonant inverter guarantees an extremely stable arc with fewer projections. Moreover, the adaptation of current consumption to mains voltage reduces losses (effects of inductive and capacitive reactance) and improves energy efficiency. Power factor correction saves energy, uses power cables up to about 100 m and provides a more flexible input voltage range.
