Rehau : in the footsteps of Calcutta

Rehau, specializing in solutions based on polymers will participate in the construction of a subway line crossing the city of Calcutta from east to west.

The extension of the subway in Caulcutta, will cover 37 km and it will be carried out by SIEMENS. This is the second line of the subway of the Indian Megalopolis. Rehau assumes an important role in this project by providing the system of railway rail made of structure, the spacers and polymer covers. In addition, added respectively the rails from a composite material made of aluminum and steel.

A part of the subway line project will be divided into two sections : the first overhead section will be on 6 km and a second underground this time, will be 9 km. It should be noted a tunnel under the Hooghly , a floodway of Gange, will make the Calcutta metro the first Indian train to be immersed. Maybe, eventually 480 000 passengers are expected to use this line.
A third line is currently under review.
