On May 10, Hochtief’s subsidiary, UGL has been selected to design, build and provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for two new solar farm projects.

At the Collinsville Solar plant, located in Queensland, the company is to supply the local power producer, RATCH-Australia with EPC and testing. The farm is expected to generate revenue of $83M over thirteen months and enough energy to serve around 15,000 households. Besides, the contract includes O&M works for five years.
At the White Rock Solar Farm, in New South Wales, UGL will manage EPC and commissioning as well as O&M for two years. The company has the objective to produce 46,000MW hours of electricity, being the consumption of approximatively 7,200 households. This project should generate $34.2M revenue over nine months.
UGL Managing Director, Juan Santamaria commented: “We have a proven track record in the design and delivery of solar farms, and this has been instrumental in securing these opportunities.
“We have established a national operational control and monitoring centre to support the company’s increasing portfolio of utility scale solar farm O&M contracts.”
Both solar projects could yield a profit of $117M to UGL.
