The consortium is also composed of the Portuguese constructors Mota Engil and Edivisa which is a Visabeira Group’s subsidiary. On April 21, they won €110M contract that aims to construct the Alto Tâmega dam and hydroelectric plant on the river Tâmega, near Oporto, Portugal.

Both projects are part of the Tâmega River project which consists of three hydroelectric plants construction.
Alto Tâmega dam is anticipated to be 106.5-meter high with a double-curvature concrete arch. The hydroelectric plant is to comprise two 80MW units. The companies are also engaged to undertake the plant’s water circuit, river diversion works and the plant access tunnel.
On the other side, the Gouvaes penstock is to be a 4.7km concrete-lined tunnel with a diameter of 7.3 meters. Works on the water inlet structure in the Gouvaes reservoir on the Torno River, on the sluice structure and on other ancillary components are also included in the contract.
