Much less costly than salt in brine 100% biodegradable, the new dry salt Selvert – named DNV-B - is intended for urban use by communities wishing to preserve their roadways from the chemical attack of the conventional road salt. It’s secret? It contains calcium acetate and magnesium which neutralizes the role of sodium and thus avoiding the loss of calcium and magnesium by the cement, concrete and stone. "They then retain a hard and non-porous surface that greatly reduces the in-depth attack," says Selvert in press release. This new salt will be tested in this winter by the city of Grenoble.
