Abertis’ subsidiary wins Sao Paulo Motorway concession in Brazil

The Brazilian highway concessionaire, Arteris has been awarded, on April 26, 30-year Rodovias dos Calçados grant in the biggest city of the Latin American country.

Arteris, the subsidiary of Abertis, the world leader in toll roads management, is managing the Rodovias dos Calçados, major Sao Paulo’s highway, after it recently won the concession.

The franchise includes 720km motorway being the 317km already managed by Autovias, an Arteris’ concessionaire and 403km previously under direct management of the government state.

The 30-year Rodovias dos Calçados concession runs from Itaparonga to Franca.

The €1,500M project foresees the expansion of the motorway’s capacity with the duplication of up to 275km.

The awarding process is worth a total cost of €418M and is expected to generate €135M in revenues and €85M in EBITDA.
