In the Madhya Pradesh region, within the VE Powertrain are being manufactured Volvo Penta engines for the first time since April 20.

Jonas Nilsson, head of Volvo Penta in India declared: “Although we have supplied engines and products to India for two decades, to have them actually produced here for the first time and delivered to customers, is a progressive step. We are ready for whatever the market needs – we are producing premium quality engines made in India, for Indian customers.”
A production line is exclusively devoted to Volvo Penta engines.
The manufacturer of mobile cranes based in Kolkata, TIL is one of the first customers to take delivery of the new five and eight liters engines that are certified for Bharat Stage III emissions standards.
The announcement ties in with ‘Make in India’, a governmental initiative that encourages national and international companies to manufacture in India in order to use local skills and boost employment.
