Last February, spillway failure provoking massive flooding occurred on Oroville Dam which provides water supplies for over 25 million Californians and 750,000 acres of irrigated farmland. As a consequence, 188,000 residents were forced to evacuate.

The California Department of Water Resources has entrusted this week Kiewit Corporation to repair two spillways.
The fixing work is to start at the end of May and could take until 2018 to be completed.
