Sika opens new subsidiary in Senegal

Sika strengthens its presence in West Africa with a new subsidiary in Senegal. A local production unit for concrete admixtures is already planned and will shortly be extended to mortars.

"Large-scale investment projects in infrastructure, transport, energy and water combined with the recent discovery of oil fields will contribute to the development of this emerging country. Our growth strategy in Africa pays off. In the last 5 years our sales have increased by an average of 22% per year," said Paul Schuler, EMEA Regional Director at Sika.

Senegal’s economy has grown by more than 5% on average over the last 3 years. According to the latest forecasts, the country’s economic growth is projected to increase by 6.5% in 2017. The construction sector is favored by the Emerging Senegal Plan, which will be implemented by 2035 and whose objective is to develop urban centers through major infrastructure projects.
