Caterpillar settles in the Chicago area
Caterpillar announced that it would establish premises in the Chicago area (USA) in the course of 2017.

"About two-thirds of Caterpillar’s sales and revenues come from outside the US. Since 2012, the location of a headquarters near a metropolis such as Chicago allows us to meet our customers more easily and more frequently, Dealers and employees from around the world," said Jim Umpleby, CEO of Caterpillar. "We appreciated our historic location in downtown Peoria in central Illinois, and the vast majority of our teams will remain in this area where we operate a lot of facilities. Chicago location is also a way to add a talented team to our network".

PUBLICITÉ
Due to the sluggish market, Caterpillar will not build the previously announced Peoria headquarters. The existing building will continue to be used for offices. In Chicago, once the head office is fully operational, Caterpillar will have approximately 300 employees, including several positions transferred from Peoria.
