Philippines: commissioning of submarine interconnection CNP-1

Prysmian Group, a specialist in power and telecommunication cables, announces the successful commissioning of the submarine cable link between the Negros and Panay Islands in the Philippines. The contract for the 1st phase (Cebu-Negros-Panay) was awarded to Prysmian by the operating company of the network in the Philippines: National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

This project is part of a broader development plan put in place by NGCP to strengthen the Philippine electricity transmission system. NOC-1 connection consists of 3 single-core cables HVAC (High Voltage Alternating Current) 230 kV with XLPE insulation and shielding phase along a submarine axis of 22 km around the Guimaras Strait.
