AFITF: An additional 106 M € for Lyon-Turin in 2017

The Board of Directors of the French Infrastructure Financing Agency (AFITF) met for an exceptional session at the National Assembly in the presence of Philippe Duron, Member of Parliament for Calvados.

First of all, it adopted an amendment to the Convention of 11 July 2005 on the realization and financing of studies and preliminary work on the construction of the structures of the Franco-Italian common part of the new transalpine rail link Lyon-Turin. This endorsement, which commits an additional € 106 million on this project, covers the program of activities of Tunnel Euralpin Lyon-Turin (TELT) until the end of 2017, bringing the participation of France to € 683 million nowadays.

It then turned to the financing agreement for the second part of renewal of rolling stock for territorial equilibrium trains (TET). The 30 trains financed by AFITF for a total estimated amount of € 362 million will be acquired by SNCF Mobilité to operate on regional balance lines, most of which the regions concerned have committed themselves to become the organizing authorities within the framework of the agreements finalized recently with the state.

In addition, the Board adopted the commitment of € 468 million in accordance with the 2017 budget voted at the previous Board meeting.
