Bombardier mega-deal in China
Bombardier Transportation and the Chinese manufacturer of rolling stock, China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) strengthened their collaboration with a new agreement.

The agreement was signed in Montreal as part of the visit of the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Keqiang in Canada. It aims to establish a framework allowing both sides to build on their complementary expertise to provide better customer service, better serve the global market for rail equipment and support long-term growth targets on specific projects. Bombardier and CRRC particularly focus on the development of the Chinese and international market and the management of the common resources of production.

“We are working closely with CRRC since 1998, and we are particularly pleased to have reached this milestone in our relationship. It will allow us to make an offer to our customers in China and around the world, a wider more competitive range regarding the rail transportation solutions. Along with CRRC, we look forward to providing greater mobility to the Chinese people and all the countries and cities that are under development of their transportation systems with the latest technologies and a shorter time to market” said Alain Bellemare, CEO of Bombardier.
As a reminder, Bombardier has a strong presence in the Chinese market where it owns three joint ventures formed with subsidiaries of CRRC in China. They notably build TGV, subway, monorails etc. Until today, they have provided more than 3,000 high speed trains and over 2000 metro to the Chinese market.
