Austrian investors are looking to the Russian market

Austrian investors are attracted to Russia because of a favorable tax regime and lower production costs.

Renowned Austrian companies like Egger, Kronospan, Hasslacher, Voestalpine, Wienerberger and Lasselsberger has already been very active in the region. They produce goods such as bricks, ceramics, complex steel constructions, wooden panels and many other products for a Russian construction industry that is very dynamic and that has a very large potential in infrastructure, domestic and industrial construction.

The Austrian company OMV is also highly interested in participating in the Nord Stream-2 project. The interested Western European Partners (ENGIE, OMV, Shell, Uniper, and Wintershall) are looking for a way to contribute individually to the Nord Stream 2 project. The OMV group has formed a consortium with Gazprom, BASF, E.ON, ENGIE, OMV and Shell, and will itself invest considerable funds to implement the project.
