The Amager Resource Center (ARC), an organization co-led by 5 Danish municipalities, has started construction of a new incinerator designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels. Baptized Amager Bakke, it will be commissioned in 2017 and will be able to upgrade about 400 000 tons of household waste per year into electricity and heat for up to 170 000 households. In addition to valorizing trash, the roof will be used as a ski run of 85 m long and the facade, 100 m of climbing wall.

Combined with 6 mast climbers and two bespoke monorail hoist systems, the Genie booms works to lift , lower and secure the base layer of 1.5 tonne of section of thermal, acoustic and waterproof cladding into position on the facade, and then positioning the decorative outer layer of 3 250 aluminum brick-style cassette of 80kg each.
