Work on the 6-mile long $115M Longmeadow Parkway Fox River Bridge Corridor project has been interrupted this week in Kane County. Indeed, the Stop Longmeadow group, residents against the highway construction would have found bumblebees in the Brunner Family Forest Preserve along the parkway site route.

The Longmeadow Parkway plans to reduce traffic in Northern County with the construction of a four-lane Fox River Bridge crossing and four-lane minor arterial roadway corridor including a 5.6-mile long median.
The project should meet completion in late 2019 but this recent revelation could compromise the deadline.
The restraining order halts the construction work until April 28. It has been issued by Judge Sharon Coleman in the U.S District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Eastern Division.
