CIMIC designated to expand Junee Prison in Australia

The Group’s subsidiary, CPB Contractors has won design and construction contract on April 12 to deliver the Junee Correctional Centre upgrades.

The $134M design and construction contract awarded by the CIMIC’s subsidiary, CPB Contractors consists mainly of expanding the Junee security male prison which is located on the town outskirts in New South Wales (NSW).

The Corrective Services NSW has named the company to upgrade the existing Correctional Centre in order to create a total of 480 new beds. Demolishing and Relocating existing buildings, refurbishing infrastructure and also incorporating new maximum security and administration buildings are also part of the project upgrades.

CPB Contractors Managing Director, Román Garrido said: “We will continue to work with Corrective Services NSW and Justice Infrastructure to achieve innovative and cost-effective solutions for this project. Developing increased job and work opportunities for local workers and businesses is also a priority for our team as the project progresses.”

The Junee Correctional Centre construction is to start this year for a completion in 2019.
