The United Nations Economic Commission (UNECE) has announced on Monday the interruption of the nuclear power station construction, Hinkley Point C, in the United Kingdom.

The 1991 agreement stipulates “the general obligation of States to notify and consult each other on all major projects under consideration that are likely to have a significant adverse environmental impact across boundaries”, as written on UNECE website.
EDF spokesman said: “The UK supreme court has already rejected a challenge from An Taisce which claimed that the government should have consulted other member states before making its decision on the development.”
EDF won the $22, 3 billion contract to build nuclear plant in September 2016.
