Established in a geographical area at extreme temperatures, the construction was not without problem. A fleet of Volvo machines has been mobilized for its robustness and efficiency. It includes an L60E, an L35B, an L30B, and even a L50 from 1992 used for ice harvesting, moving blocks of snow and ice and melting snow. The process of growing and harvesting natural ice has been refined in recent years.
