Grove to the rescue

A Grove crane was used to lift materials to build Sky, a new skyscraper under construction in the German city of Bietigheim-Bissingen. Facilities include a rooftop swimming pool with 360-degree views at 67 m high.

Established on a site of 3,300 m², the Sky Tower has 18 floors and culminates at 67 m high. It is the tallest building in Bietigheim-Bissingen. As part of its construction, a Grove all-terrain crane was requested for the construction of the penthouses and the roof terrace which must accommodate a panoramic pool.

The company GmbH & Co. KG opted for a Grot GMK5250L of 250 t, capable of lifting construction materials, wooden elements, glass plates and pool components to 66 m. Loads touching the 3 t easily brought to the roof thanks to a boom of 70 m combined with a offset of 50 °.
