ATG: a tire for tough port service

ATG offers the new Galaxy Portstar Plus, an advanced tire for tough port applications.

The sculpture of this deep tread extends the life span, resulting in superior performance. The robust nylon casing and a high number of plies guarantee high lateral stability and heavy load carrying capacity. The large area of contact with the ground ensures pressure on ground is much lesser than max permissible pressure, thus extending the service life and reducing wear, which is also uniform. The robust heel of the tire minimizes the risk of breakage. The specially formulated compound of the structure and the reinforced insulation between the plies reduce heat generation thus prolonging the life of the tire and offering excellent characteristics on hard surfaces such as concrete.

In the commercial port of Alicante (Spain), the Spanish group JSV Logistics, a complete logistics service provider, guarantees the fast handling of containers thanks to Kalmar’s successful reach stackers, including the latest generation Gloria, a lifting force Up to 45 t. This machine is activated in port 7/7 to lift containers over 12 m, a weight of 100 t. It is equipped with the new Galaxy Portstar Plus special tire offering outstanding wear resistance even on heavily abrasive surfaces and providing heavy load carrying capacity.

The tire offers much more safety in tight turns and provides good shock absorption on asphalt as on concrete surfaces.
