The approval of Joy Global’s shareholders represents a key step in the approval of the redemption process initiated by Komatsu this summer, for an amount of approximately $ 3.7 billion (see attached). Still, the market remains to be subject to the approval of competition authorities, including the US and Canada. According to a press release of Joy Global, the transaction should be completed in mid-2017.
