Pestech Ltd., the winner in Cambodia

Alex Corp. has awarded a Pestech Internation Bhd’s unit, Pestech Ltd. based in Cambodia, a contract to build a hydro-electric power plant in Phnom-Penh.

Pestech Ltd. will carry out the design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning of the Stung Tatay Hydro Power Plant (HPP). The new power plant, Phnom Penh Transmission System Project will include 220 km and should provide a power capacity of 230 kV double circuit transmission line from Stung Tatay HPP to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.

The contract worth US $ 100.21 million will also involve Pestech Cambodia to supply, install and connect two 230 kV line bays at the Stung Tatay HPP switchyard, and according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the project was expected to start within three months from the date of the agreement, and the completion should be within 36 months from the commencement date.

According to Pestech, no major risk other than the normal operational associated with the project is foreseen and adds that all the necessary precautions should be taken to mitigate the risk.
