Veolia wins £209M contract in London
The French optimized resource management leader has been awarded today an eight-year new recycling and waste services commitment for four South London boroughs.

The subsidiary Veolia ES UK Ltd has been designated to manage recycling and waste collections, street cleansing, commercial waste, recycled material sales, winter maintenance and vehicle management in four boroughs of London.

The contract commits the company for eight years and is worth over £209 million.

Estelle Brachlianoff, Senior Executive Vice President at Veolia UK and Ireland declared: “Through the Partnership, we have the opportunity to harmonize services across the four London boroughs to deliver significant cost savings and high quality, reliable services that will boost sustainability and preserve resources. As winners of Business in the Community’s Responsible Business of the Year we look forward to the opportunity to put Veolia at the heart of these communities in South London and to support a more sustainable future for everyone.”

Merton, Croydon, Sutton and Kingston are the four London divisions concerned.

The company would have to deliver a new-look collection service to households in Sutton but an ‘as-is’ collection service in Merton. The company already takes care of the other two boroughs. However, a new assistance would be introduced in Kingston in April 2019.

The new services launchings are planned in October 2018.
