India: NHAI takes over the reins of Central Peripheral Road Project

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been awarded few days ago the unblock traffic development plan after its predecessor failed.

Due to shortage funds and failure to build 3.2 km expansion, the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has been forced to hand over the Central Peripheral Road (CPR) Project to NHAI.

The Rs 22.80 crore CPR plan aims to unblock traffic jams on Gurgaon by means of a connection between Dwarka Expressway and the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR). It is localized in the National Capital Region (NCR) which encompasses the National Capital Territory of Delhi and several surrounding districts.

NHAI is also in charge of undertaking the Dwarka Expressway development that would connect on 27km Rangpuri in Delhi to Kherki Daula village in Gurgaon. It is now looking for acquiring a land for the 9km Delhi portion of Dwarka Express.
