New airport terminal for Zagreb

Last Tuesday, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, officially opened a new flying terminal at Franjo Tudjman airport in Zagreb, Croatia.

Project, which represents a 300 million euros investment, has been led by French-Croatian consortium Zagreb Airport International Company, involving Bouygues Bâtiment International (BBI). The latter has been entrusted with the operation of the site for a duration of 30 years.

The old terminal was congested. The new infrastructure, with its 65,000 square meters, will be able to welcome five million passengers per annum instead of two formerly.

In a country where economy is dominated by tourism (which accounts for 18% of Croatian GDP), Government expects Franjo Tudjman will become a regional hub and will seduce new tourists.

French Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Development Harlem Desir was pleased with the good collaboration between both European countries.
