Spie takes on Smart Tooling project

Spie is partnering with the "Smart Tooling Project", a European collaboration aimed at developing innovative maintenance solutions for the processing industry.

As part of this program, Spie joins the Flying Outdoors Cluster alongside Avular and Airobot. They also brings together other companies such as DOW Benelux and BASF, as well as universities and higher education institutions, with a common objective: to strengthen the processing industry by improving safety and profitability on site. Within this group, Spie will evaluate the safety of drones in an industrial transformation environment.

"One of the objectives is to develop a software tool that will serve as a checklist before an inspection flight, for example, to establish a flight plan and to control the images perfectly," said Johnny van der Poel, chief engineer and drone pilot at Spie Nerderland. "We want to demonstrate that it is possible to fly safely in an industrial transformation environment."
