Wastewater treatment to create employment in Canada
$385 million: this is the amount invested by Canada and British Columbia in phase 1 of the Wastewater Treatment Project in the Capital Regional District (CRD), notably with a view to create jobs.

This huge initiative comprises three components:

PUBLICITÉ
- The McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant, dedicated to tertiary treatment. This part also includes a pipeline that will link Ogden Point to McLoughlin Point. Construction will start in April.

- A Biosolids Treatment Facility.

- A transport system that will convey wastewater to the treatment plant and residual solids to the Biosolids Treatment Facility.

The final aim is not only to preserve environment, but also to “create the good, well-paying jobs to help the middle class grow and prosper today”, according to Amarjeet Sohi, Canadian Minister for Infrastructure and Communities.

The whole project, worth around $765 million, is due to be delivered by the end of 2020.
