The National Research Council (NRC) is updating the building codes as Canada is more and more hit by natural disasters.
Last June, fires damaged the area of Alberta and scientists have predicted the phenomenon may happen again and more frequently in the country due to planet warming.

Infrastructure Canada has given $40 million to the NRC in order to improve the national codes for building, energy, plumbing and fire. Also, they must be used to strengthen public infrastructures.
