JLG closes 3 production sites

The manufacturer of aerial platforms and telescopic forklifts JLG announces the closure of three production sites in Belgium, the United Kingdom and the United States.

"These planned actions will allow us to increase our performance in order to reaffirm our status as an international leader in access equipment "

In practice, JLG wants to rationalize its offer of telescopic forklifts within the EMEA zone. The manufacturer plans to continue to produce a limited range of models from the Romanian site of Medias. This simplification of the range is accompanied by a restructuring of the engineering support provided by the British center of Bruntingthorpe which will eventually be closed. In Belgium, the production and pre-delivery inspection activities of Maasmechelen will be divided between the remaining JLG sites or outsourced sites. Finally, the manufacturer plans to close production lines for telescopic trucks in Orrville, Ohio (USA). This activity will be transferred to JLG sites in Pennsylvania.

Production activities at the Orrville and Maasmechelen sites will cease on September 30, 2017. Pre-delivery inspection facilities at the Maasmechelen site will close within 12 to 18 months. The closing of Bruntingthorpe, finally, will be communicated later.
