Thyssenkrupp builds cement plant in Algeria
Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has just won an important contract with the Société des Ciments de Sigus, a subsidiary of the Industrial Group of Ciments d’Algérie (GICA), for several hundred million of euros.

Thyssenkrupp will deliver a turnkey cement plant with a production capacity of 6,000 t of clinker per day, built in Sigus, in the Wilaya of Oum El Bouaghi, south of Constantine. The commissioning is scheduled for early 2019. The company will take over the supply of equipment, construction and supervision services for this new production line.

PUBLICITÉ
The main components include a 1600 t / h mixing crusher, a secondary crusher for 500 t / h additions, a 75,000 tonne circular prehomogenization plant, two Quadropol QMR2 45/23 raw mills with a flow rate Of 2 x 300 t / h and a homogenization silo of 30 000 tons. The production line consists of a Dopolasc 5-stage double-column preheating tower, a 3-rotor rotary kiln and a Polytrack clinker cooler.

The facility is complemented by 2 clinker silos with a total capacity of 60,000 tons, 3 cement ball mills of 160 t / h each, 4 cement silos capable of storing up to 80,000 tons and a d ’Bagging equipped with 4 baggers of 3000 bags per hour.

"We intend to complete the project with Thyssenkrupp, which is considered to be one of the largest suppliers of engineering, procurement and construction services in the cement sector, offering reliable high energy efficiency technologies and equipment which meet the most stringent environmental requirement ," says Fawzi Bechir, CEO of the Society of Cement Sigus.

Namely, GICA has launched several projects to increase its cement production capacity from 12 million tonnes to 20 million tonnes per year by 2019.
