Atlas Copco takes over Erkat hydraulic cutters

Atlas Copco has just absorbed Erkat, a German manufacturer of hydraulic cutters for excavators and thus completes its offer of demolition tools and underground digging solutions.

The German manufacturer Erkat has 38 employees and realized in 2015, a turnover of 12 million euros. Erkat hydraulic cutters are sold worldwide. Demolition or excavation by adaptable hydraulic cutters is increasingly used to meet existing noise and vibration levels regulations.

"Hydraulic cutters are a good technical alternative to both excavating buckets and sophisticated hydraulic hammers in hard rock extraction ," said Vladimir Kozlovskiy, President of Construction Tools at Atlas Copco.
