By its thermal properties, Cellumat cellular concrete makes it possible to build walls according to the principle of "monomur". This technique without insulation, which is often a source of flame spread, is safer and can limit the burning of a habitat. Seduced by these assets, the architect Jean-Michel Pupille, manager of the architecture agency Voyelles, realized the passive house LaLauragaise at Belbèze de Lauragais in cellular concrete. The owner, a beekeeper, wanted a bioclimatic passive house on the idea of a modern Lauragaise farm, with optimized energy efficiency. The walls were realized with solid Cellumat concrete blocks of 36.5 cm thick, combined with plaster on the inside for a perfect airtightness.
